As many of you probably know, Brexit has caused some changes in how the UK government collects VAT on imported products. Starting on January 1, 2021, that all shipments into the UK with a subtotal value of ￡135 or less have a 20% VAT collected by the shipper. These taxes are then to be reported and transferred to HRMC quarterly by the seller of the goods. Gamut has been looking into these rules and has concluded that this reporting's administrative costs would be too onerous for a small business like us to manage. Therefore, starting on December 31, 2021, we will set a rule in the Gamut Online Shop that will not allow the orders bound for the UK to have a subtotal value less than ￡135.
