Academie Pardessus de Viole Strings

(Showing 15 of 15)

Stringing a Pardessus Viol is more complicated that other instruments because it can have either five of six strings, and the five-stringed instrument can use either one of two popular tunings. We have done our best to make the string choice clear and easy, but if you get confused, please contact our support staff at: support@gamutmusic.com with your questions.

Gamut Academie strings are designed for Baroque instruments by those musicians playing historical performance practice at a=415, and are perfectly suitable for modern a=440 practice, but the result will be a little bit more tension at a=440.

Use our String Calculators to find the correct strings for your instrument. You can find Specific String Tensions here. Interested in varnished strings? Many strings come with the Option to Add Varnish.
