This is the Goldbrokat Premium violin e-1 string made famous for being the first high-carbon string for solo performance. Before this the steel was softer with a tin coating. The string is a high-carbon steel with a ball end for attaching to a fine-tuner. The string is available from Gamut Music only in the Medium gauge of 0.26mm (0.066).
